To prepare your document for output at MegaCopies, you must prepare your file according to the following instructions. Users wishing to have the work output to black & white should choose the "Apple LaserWriter II NTX". Users who are composing for Full Color Output should choose the "QMS ColorScript 100 Model 30". (you may have both printers installed at the same time). You may also download the current printer drivers.

From the Windows Desktop-

1. START/SETTINGS/PRINTERS....Add Printer....
   NEXT/LOCAL PRINTER..(if on a network)/
   [choose appropriate printer as noted for your desired output]/NEXT/choose FILE/NEXT ...default printer=NO
   test page=NO. FINISH/[Windows may prompt for disks or CD] ... a printer icon will show up in the printers folder connected to a disk.
2. From your publishing program print to the printer you installed above. A dialog will pop up asking to name the file. Type in any name, but please use the ‘prn’ extension. (ie. myfile.prn) The file extension is helpful for pre-press as a print to disk identifier.
3. You're ready to bring in your file! You may also send it direct to our Document Reception system after compressing it.
4. If you are going to send us your file electronically, please "ZIP" your file. This insures proper name formatting when we unzip the file across our network. Don't have WINZIP? Click HERE!

Users wishing to have the work output to black & white should choose the "Apple LaserWriter II NTX". Users who are composing for Full Color Output should choose the "QMS ColorScript 100 Model 30 PPD's in your chooser".

1. On the Mac, it is as simple as FILE/PRINT and choosing destination as FILE. Be sure your chooser correctly reflects a color or black and white post-script printer. A dialog will popup asking to name the file. Type in any name, but please use the ‘prn’ extension. (ie. myfile.prn). The file extension is helpful for the pre-press department as a print to disk identifier.
2. If you are going to send us your file electronically instead of on disk, you must "STUFF" your file. This insures proper name formatting when we unstuff the file across our network onto the Macintosh. Don't have STUFFIT? Click HERE.
